The interdisciplinary doctoral program ASPECT (Alliance for Social, Political, Ethical, and Cultural Thought) and the Department of Political Science at Virginia Tech invite applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Modern/Contemporary Political Theory, with strengths in at least one of the following areas: Environmental Political Theory; Security and Political Theory; Political Theory and Governance. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and research skills with the potential to achieve a national research profile along with excellence in teaching and service. The standard teaching load is four courses per academic year, including at least one course to be offered for the ASPECT PhD program and typically a large Introduction to Political Theory lower-division course. This position will begin August 10, 2016.
